This year the weather was definitely not on our side. We were greeted by a rainy day, and the weather forecast gave only a small chance of improvement.

Fortunately, this did not discourage all the lovers of walking in the forest in search of mushrooms. Together, at the meeting place in ABC Muhos, we decided to give up driving to Rokua and try our luck in the local forests.

We decided to go to Montta. This place had an incredibly beautiful forest trail on the banks of Perkkiönoja, and although we didn’t manage to find any mushrooms, the views were breathtaking, and the weather soon improved and it stopped raining.

After a few kilometers of walking along the trail, we deserved a warm meal – there was hot coffee, sausages, salads, fresh bread and also sweets such as cinnamon buns and doughnuts. All this in extremely pleasant company and with cheerful conversation. And although the great mushroom harvest was unsuccessful and there was no sun in the sky, all participants considered this trip to the forest to be extremely successful. Next year we are going for another Mushroom Picking!
